Free Friday

Happy Friday! Today we are hearing from our Intermediate teachers:

The intermediate teachers want to give a big shout out to the kind manager of Staples.  He saved our students when we were in a bind!   A few days before school started, the teachers opened the box of 60 binders we had purchased.   Even though we ordered the exact same binders we used last year, the quality of the binders had changed as well as the size. They no longer fit our jumbo tabs.   We took our problem to Staples and the manager there was amazing.   He ordered the nice, high quality Avery binders, he matched the sale price from the other store AND we got an additional discount!   We were concerned that they might not arrive in time for school and he assured us he would drive to every store in the county if he needed to.   SLOCA would have their binders. He gave us his card and said to call if we have any other needs.  He would  match prices and get us the best deals.   Thanks, Staples!

Remember to be "Free by 5" and turn off your electronics tonight by 5.  With the long weekend, it's a great time to fit in some Education and Enrichment.  Families need to log at least 12 hours per trimester of activities such as additional field trips, exploring a topic of interest, museums, historical movies, etc.

This weekend around our county there is a concert in SLO Mission Plaza from 5:30-7:30 pm; the Morro Bay Museum is hosting an informative and humorous talk on peregrine falcons; and Paso Robles is having a Classic Car Weekend.  Find something fun for you family and enjoy time together.  No school Monday or Tuesday but come back and check the blog on Monday. We'll be interviewing Troy Wathan, our new Associate Director and Lower Middle School teacher about classical education and what books are on his shelves.  Happy weekend!

SLO Classical Academy is not affiliated with any of the above businesses or events.
